Lawrence Lake News. by Wes Leeks
CPT Angling Club.com are the owner's of Lawerence Lake Ardleigh. Earlier in the year the Committee felt it was necessary to improve the fishing on the lake and also the depth of the water, due to large amounts of silt build up in the lake. This in turn would also make the lake bigger.
This was suggested by Ben from the Enviroment Agency who would remove the fish to safety before work commenced. They came a few weeks later and began taking the fish out by stunning and netting them. Some fish were taken to Tinnieveld and others were donated to 2 fishing clubs who had lost their fish.
On the 18th of March 2016 Roy Clarke & myself, Wes Leeks started work with a friend, Phil, to begin the teadious task of taking the trees down to clear the area. Once the trees were cleared away , the roots were dug out and removed. A digger & dumper were hired by us. The lake had been drained to about 1ft of water left in the middle to make it possible to work.
